Dear Parents and Learners,

SCHOOL FEES
Parents are reminded that fees are due on the 7th of each month. Please set up debit orders to ensure that your fees are paid on time. Your co-operation in this regard helps with the smooth running of the school.

LATE COLLECTIONS
Parents are urged to ensure that learners are collected from school on time. Any learners left on the pavement after 15:15 will be taken to the Aftercare and parents will be charged R60 fees. No learner may be left on the pavement unattended.

AFTER-CARE
The After-care offers a light lunch as well as supervised homework. After-care fees are R800 per month. If you are interested in making use of the after-care, please send your child to the office to collect application forms.

ABSENTEEISM
Parents are requested to please assist us in this regard. Even though the assessments are officially completed, learners may not be off school. Being present during this stage is of vital importance as teachers are doing revision and in many cases we have already started with Term Two work.

ISSUING OF REPORTS
Reports will be issued on Friday 20th March. Please ask your child for their report as soon as they arrive at home. Please encourage your child not to open the report as parents/guardians should see the report first.

PARENT / TEACHER MEETINGS
Parent/Teacher meetings will take place on Saturday 4th April 2020 strictly from 09:00 to 10:30. These meetings are for the Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase (Grade 1 to Grade 6). These meetings are by invitation only. Parents will receive an invitation requesting that they attend the meeting. If your child has not passed the term it is imperative that you attend the meeting. If you do not receive an invitation and wish to see a teacher, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher to set up an appointment for another day. ECD / Grade RR and Grade R will be inviting their parents they wish to see during the week of  01st April to 09th April. These meetings will take place in the afternoons by appointment.

FINAL DAY OF TERM ONE
Friday the 20th March will be the final day of Term One. All learners must be present at school! Learners will be released at 12:00. Please ensure that you inform your transport providers as learners will not be permitted to loiter on the pavements after 12:30. They will be taken to after-care and you will be charged R60.

FIRST DAY OF TERM TWO
All learners must return to school on Tuesday 31st March 2020. Teachers will be starting work from Tuesday as the term is short and we need to complete our deadlines. Please do not take extended holidays as this has a detrimental effect on your child’s progress as well as their results.

STATIONERY FOR TERM TWO
At the beginning of the year learners were issued with basic stationery items. Many children have either finished or lost their stationery. Please assist us by checking your child’s pencil bag during the holiday and see what items need to be replenished. It is so difficult to teach a lesson when children are borrowing rulers, scissors and glue. It takes away from valuable teaching time while we have to wait for children to find someone who is willing to lend them their equipment. Many of the Intermediate Phase learners are missing stationery items. Parents, please help us in this regard.

DEMONSTRATION GALA GRADE 2 TO GRADE 4
This demonstration gala will take place on Thursday 19th March 2020. Letters informing parents have already been sent out with reply slips attached.  If you are attending, please bring your own seating as well as umbrellas. Parents will be seated on the opposite side of the pool and learners on the stadium side. Parents are kindly requested not to sit with the children or to visit them as this is most disruptive. Please ensure that your child wears the prescribed swimming attire.

INTERVENTION CLASSES
Parents are asked to kindly allow us to work with your children if they are experiencing difficulties with a subject/s. Intervention letters have already been issued during Term One and new letters will be issued for Term Two requesting your permission for your child to attend classes.

WACKY WEDNESDAY (INTERMEDIATE PHASE)
Our extra-mural program will begin next term on Wednesdays from 14:30 to 15:30. Wacky Wednesday will start on Wednesday 15th April and the final session will be on Wednesday 13th May. Due to late collections and extra transport cost, we have decided to offer this extra mural on a voluntary basis. Learners will receive a letter and you will be asked to indicate if your child will participate in the programme or not.
